The Phenomenon Library
Phenomenon Library
The Phenomenon Library is a place for professional educators and homeschooling parents to find real-world examples of science topics and processes (i.e., phenomena) for classroom activities and assessments. Developed and curated by our experts, the phenomena in this library are aligned to performance expectations of the Next Generation Science Standards. That said, phenomena are not restricted to any specific content standards and are appropriate for anyone who wants to use real-world examples with their students. This library is continually growing - we aim to have multiple phenomena associated with each topic. Some topics involve regionally specific phenomena and some do not. For those topics that do, we aim to keep adding new phenomena from new regions.

Using the library
Do you have a performance expectation in mind? Search for resources aligned to it (e.g., type in “5-ESS1-1” to find phenomena aligned to 5-ESS1-1; type in “3.3.9-12.F” to find phenomena aligned to STEELS 3.3.9-12.F).
You can also search using topic or dimension keywords (e.g., volcanoes; energy; Moon; patterns; conducting investigations).
Additionally, you can browse phenomena by selecting a grade band or subject below.
Once you have found a phenomenon that you want, simply add it to your cart and follow the instructions at checkout.
