The use of Framework-based standards with phenomena reflects a nationwide shift in K-12 science education that we have spent years helping implement in states across the country.

We can help you make this change in your district or classroom.

We support all grades and content areas and are PLPG and Act48 certified.

We will bundle Intro and S&P I into a three-day in-person session. Doing so eliminates the need to review Intro material in S&P I and allows us to cover additional topics.

We offer this bundle for groups of up to 25 for $17500, which includes PSE facilitator travel (we can offer special pricing in New England because of reduced travel costs).

We offer instruction and practice in crafting phenomenon-based activities aligned to 3D standards derived from A Framework for K-12 Science Education.

  • First, we run Introduction to Phenomena, S&P I, and parts of S&P II (including deeper explorations of what student proficiency means in terms of 3D standards and linking phenomena together under coherent anchors).
  • We then brainstorm phenomena and draft activities where students use logical combinations of the three dimensions to address those phenomena.

Writing 3D Activities involves 40 in-person contact hours.

We will work with you to schedule.

We welcome participants from multiple schools/districts.

We offer instruction and practice in crafting phenomenon-based performance tasks aligned to standards based on A Framework for K-12 Science Education, at classroom formative and summative levels.

  • First, we run Standards and Phenomena II, with deeper explorations of best practices in evaluation of student performance and bias/sensitivity in test writing.
  • From there, participants examine activity sets for assessment points and begin writing and peer-reviewing questions and prompts for selected standards (these are focused on phenomena presented to participants and on phenomena that they brainstorm themselves).

This workshop should follow Standards and Phenomena I.
